Meet our Featured Caregiver for December… Michele!

Michele has been with the Sunny Days Great Lakes Family for five months! She’s originally from Marquette and still resides in the area with her family. She has three beautiful children, Kyle, Julianne, and Mariah. She lost her father in February of 2023, and her mother is in a care facility with dementia. All of her time outside of work is dedicated to her mom. She has six brothers and sisters, and they all live out of town. She’s especially proud of her brother, who was a master sergeant in the army, having served in multiple wars, and lost him due to complications from his service. In addition to working and caring for her mom, Michele enjoys cooking and taking long walks. Her favorite food is pasta, she loves all types of music, and she loves any time of movie that’s older and based on a true story. A fun fact about Michele is that she’s very warm-hearted!

When asked about her favorite part of being a caregiver, Michele said, “…I love caring for people…they make me realize that the little things that I have going on are not anything compared to what they’re going through. They are so strong and inspire me.” Her advice to new caregivers is to “…be a friend to your client and care for them the way you would care for your own family. They become a part of your family.” When asked what caregiving means to her, Michele said, “…I love caring for people, they care for me as well in a sense.” Her favorite memory with a client is any time she was able to make them smile.

We’re so thankful for Michele and the positive and lasting impact she’s had on our team. She takes great pride in taking loving care of her clients, and we are blessed to have her. Keep up the great work, Michele!
