Meet our Featured Caregiver for the month of February…Melissa!

Melissa has been with the Sunny Days Family for one year. She’s originally from Green Bay but currently resides in Escanaba with her thirteen-year-old son Ethan, their dog Diamond, and cat Nathaniel Garfield. Outside of work Melissa enjoys spending time with her son and their animals. Her favorite food is chicken scampi, favorite type of music is Country, and favorite movie Son-In-Law. A fun fact about Melissa is that she has an uncle who played in All My Children.

When asked about her favorite part of being a caregiver, Melissa said “…spending time with clients… the companionship.” Her advice to new caregivers is “…do it because you care and want to be there, not just for the money.” When asked what caregiving means to her, Melissa said “…I’m here to assist my clients with the things they can’t do, to ensure they’re able to stay in their home.” Her favorite memory with a client was “…one time I walked through catnip before coming to work. The client’s cat would not leave my feet alone, we laughed and laughed.”
