Meet our Featured Caregiver for the month of June… Lexys! 

Lexys has been with Sunny Days for about 2 months! She lives in Menominee with her husband Derek, Step-Daughters Farrah and Ariella, and 14 cats aged from 4 months to 24 years old! Her favorite food is pizza, her favorite movie is Harry Potter, and she enjoys listening to pop and heavy metal music. A fun fact about Lexys is that she can do a 1,000-piece puzzle in less than 3 hours. Outside of work, she enjoys reading and going on adventures with her family. 

Lexys’ favorite part about being a caregiver is knowing that she is making a difference in someone’s life. When asked what caregiving means to her, Lexys responded: “…Giving a piece of yourself to help someone else”. Her advice to any new caregiver would be to get to know your clients, listen to them, and sometimes all they need is someone to talk to. Lexys’ favorite memory with a client is when her client played a prank on her by saying they lost their emergency necklace and hid it in their freezer with the ice cream to share with her on her birthday.
